I so enjoy reading the posts on this site. Reminiscing about the good times never fails to bring a smile. Thanks, Bernie, for creating this page. Yes, JP68, we boomers were a close-knit group of kids- even those not personally connected knew of one another -With nearly 500 of us in each class year in high school, we had the opportunity to make friends from all over the city. I'm sure we're following so many different life paths and would welcome news of friends and acquaintances from our hometown. Where are you living, what are you doing, raising kids, dogs, flowers? What cards has life dealt you?
I'm fortunate to have parents still living in the Totowa section- they keep me filled in on town politics, (Is Veradene Ames- a classmate of mine JFK "66 - still a council member?- YOU GO VERA! ) and goings on around town-what's being built/torn down, & who's mother or which of my old friends they ran into at the Foodtown- used to be The ACME. I'm living and teaching in Bergen County, could retire in another year (how time flies!-I'm waaay too young engaged to be married (second time around) to a terrific man; this marriage will make me a grandmother (I'm waaay too young! -although my knees tell me otherwise- veterans, they are, of a few marathons and a RAGBRAI or two. Only regrets about our H.S. years are the limited opportunities for girls' sports participation. Unless you had Emily Ross for P.E. exercise meant walking between Central H.S.'s main building and the annex or racing back to class from lunch at Picone's. Glad that's changed.
I hope to read news about any/all of you posters and readers- THANKS!
