I was just thinking about things I miss I miss saturdays downtown all the shopping and people and friends to see and meet going downstairs in Quaks and getting a coke and fries with gravy maybe having them mix alittle vanila or cherry in with the coke I miss walking home and stopping at the dairy queen for a malt or a ice cream dipped in chocolate or cherry or even walking as far as Boonstra"s to get one I miss the old neighborhood lemon ices and the quietness that seemed to fall over the city on a Sunday morning you could hear the church bells ring I miss walking by a store and seeing the pair of shoes I wanted or the shirt and figuring how long i needed to work to get it. I miss the guy in the butcher shop giving me a slice of the bologna or ham or cheese my mom was buying I miss throwing a ball against a stoop or throwing rocks over into the falls I guess I miss my friends from Paterson and the good times things change some for the better some for the worse it was good to leave paterson for the time had come for us to move on but what we moved onto didnt have the same feeling as being young and alive in paterson and friends that you will always remember and you will always miss. thats what I miss most

I miss the hot dogs w/ toasted rolls at Kresge's, the balconies in movie theaters, cars that had character, 45 rpm records, soda fountains, the tar bubbles on a hot day, wax juices, 10 cent comic books, my hair, my youth.
But for me the past lives on. Yesterdays are real to me. Tommorrow I won't know until it becomes yesterday

I remember I use to go to the library on grand street it always seemed so nive in there and it always seemed so large because I was so small and the deer pen inthe park that was nice and now I have a herd that roams my property I watch them as they come out of the woods at night and the wild turkeys leave or the bear that roams or the coyote never would have guest I would wind up seeing that when I stood in front of that deer pen and the fountain in the park what a welcomed relief that was on hot summer days and standing in front of the submarine then years later painting it yellow good memeories.

Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most.

I miss the excitement ,Paterson is a town where you don't have to watch TV or go to a ball game or do anything else for entertainment. Paterson isssssss entertainment. You can just walk down the street and feel the excitement in the air, you might see a fight , somebody giving somebody"he-- "
Besides the excitement ,Paterson don't roll the sidewalks up at 5 pm like all these towns down south do. I mean you can actually go shopping down on main street after the sun goes down, well thats how it was when i lived there back in all the 60's. And the food was out of this world, i love how the Italians cooked , the delicious spaghetti sauce, and Pizzas that make your mouth water. And it was a fine place to work , thats the main reason i lived there, because my father moved there to make more money, he made 20 dollars more on his check working just 5 days a week there, compared to 6 days a week down here ,and that was 8 hours overtime in the south, doing the same kind of work but not as much work , the work load was a lot lighter up there. Certainly i miss a place like Paterson, the business men up there believed in a man making a decent living ,they believe in prosperity, down here the average working man barely gets by. But I know its not like it use to be up there, i probably couldn't make it up there now, the whole city has changed so much.
I hope to here from some of you on here even if you don't know me. bye
