A bigtime ditto on Volumes I and II on DVD. They are absolutely superb. Also available on DVD, and in my personal collection, are Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein, Abbott & Costello Meet The Invisible Man, Abbott & Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Buck Privates, Africa Screams, Jack & The Beanstalk, the Abbott & Costello TV Show and The Best of Abbott & Costello Live.
Who was funnier than Paterson's own Lou Costello with that blend of maternal Irish and paternal Italian? Combined with Asbury Park's own Bud Abbott they are arguably the best comedy duo of all time with the only serious competition coming from The Great One, Brooklyn's Jackie Gleason and Mount Vernon/Bronx Art Carney. This is with all due respect to Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

As a kid I loved Lou Costello movies. I remember everyone in the theater screamed and cheered the "Paterson" references he made in them. Later, I worked for a few years at the Memorial Pool named after him.

Believe it or not, I still have the original newspaper clipping of Lou Costello sitting at a desk right next to mine when I was in 2nd Grade at School 15. The caption reads...."I'm A Bad Boy." Lou and Bud had come to Paterson and landed in a copter in Sandy Hill Park. They actually allowed us kids to walk into the copter. My Mom never forgave herself for doing my hair in pigtails that day....I usually had big curls with braids on top, parted in the middle of course....LOL. The only two kids in the pic with Lou were me and Anthony Piccolo who played great Trumpet. It was an amazing experience. Joyce Luciano
