Well another summer is here and I was thinking back again about my graduations from grammar school and then from Kennedy HS. I remember the graduation night and that it rained so we couldnt go to Hinchcliff to graduate so we used the auditorium at JFK we were all on stage and they told us not to throw our caps up but we did anyway.I remember watching my cap go up and breaking one of the spot lights. The parties that followed the next 2 weeks were great but I always did wonder about the people I had come to know and where all our lives would be leading us It seems just about all our roads took us from Paterson I miss those days and the people I miss the summers with the day camps at Garrett Mtn. the fire hydrands cooling us off. And the ice cold lemon ices from the corner store running through the fountain in Westside park . I miss the friends that have come and gone and the ones that have passed on. So I look at the young people graduating and wonder how many of them realize whats ahead. and how many will ever really miss their hometowns as much as some of us miss those summer days back in Paterson.
