Remember the Bowl O Mat on Pennsylvania Avenue and Maryland? I spent alot of time there and had alot of fun. Saturday afternoons it would be packed with kids. My cousins lived right down the street on Maryland and Wabash, and in the summer especially , we spent so much time there bowlin three games for $1.00 or boy watching. ;D

Hi Joanie, Yes, I remember Saturday afternoons at the Bowl-O-Mat, and although it was some 10 years before you,( I graduated P.S. 5 in '62) we did exactly the same things- rent the funny shoes, bowl 3 games for a $, scout around for an eight- pound ball, -or more important- an eighth grade boy! Funny, all the things we think we've forgotten until someone jars the memory. Thank you, Joanie, although we didn't know one another, we share the common Paterson bond. I hope you are well & happy. Boy the old Bowl-O-Mat. I remember in the winter time, my buddies and I would shovel snow for money and spend most of it at the Bowl-O-Mat. The late Mayor Graves owned that at one time. He was another good neighbor and friend to all in the Lakeview section as well as the entire city of Paterson.
