can anyone remember the name of the ,I think it was an Italian bar on 48 market st or 44 can't remeber which way the numbers run, but it was almost directly across the street from the ps school#2 playground seems like it was Tony's Bar but I'm not sure, and the candy store a few doors down toward mill street, I remember a guy named Gregory kinda heavy set, his mom was over protective of him he stayed inside all the time, the rest of us would go to his apartment down an alley close to this bar I'm trying to think of," to play board games like monopoly , and another game then called mouse trap, i bet that guy had every game on the market, because he never went out side to play, he wasn't hadicapped or anything like that , it just his mother was afraid he would get into a fight or get into trouble. , Oh! Bernard I just sent you the picture of the A&P on 44 market st. or might be 48 but i know it was not 46 because that's where i lived right next door to it. I lived in between the Bar and the A&P

Bernard how are the Moody brothers , Dwight Moody use to hang with David Melendez, they loved basket ball alot first time i ever tried to play basketball was in the ps 2 play ground, stickball and base baseball wasmy game plus running, i got into a fight with this puerto rican kid nick named speedy that lived beside the ps2 playground, he got mad at me because i could run faster than him, Clayton Hughes was the fastest kid in the neighborhood if not the the whole city of Paterson, he was about 6'2" and i was only 5'3" and his long legs could run just a bit faster than my short not to much faster though, I tied him one time

Bernard how are the Moody brothers . From what I know Dwight passed on back in the 70s from huffing the bag and probably other stuff. Haven't seen Bob since the mid-80s. I moved from Paterson in '87 and rarely go back. Just not the Paterson I knew.

My time downtown was the 1950s.
My main friends: Anthony Chelsea ("Dillinger"), Georgie Cronk, Ralph De Vito, Benny Gantt, Mike Gentile, Jack Giuliano, Larry Grubb, Mike and John Karpack, Vince Kearney, Frank Longo, Del Osino, Joe Pelicotti, Alex ("Pinhead") Polowitz, H.E. and Joe Pope, Charlie Pritchett, Ronald Scudder.
I might be forgetting some others (and I also had close friends from other parts of town - Totowa and Hillcrest sections, South Paterson, Dublin/Grand Street, etc.).
Anthony Chelsea still lives on Cross Street (Cianci Place). He's lived in the same apartment his entire life. His brother, Lenny, also lives there.
I still go down to the Roma Club on Cianci Place for coffee (etc.) with Anthony, Don Kommit, John Karpack, Georgie C, and some others. See Joe P. and Jack G. once in a while....

I grew up in downtown Paterson we lived on Cross Street which is now called Cianci Street after the pastor from St Michaels church you either went to school at St Michaels or PS2 or St Johns. But the main thing was that everyone knew everyone. We hung out at Falls View or walked up around the corner to Libby's or across the street to the Olympic. We hung around with everyone most of the St Johns crowd hung in south Paterson the St Michaels group came from the Totowa section and the PS2 kids lived therein the neighborhood. Later on in high school Central/Kennedy we all evenbtually met up again It was a different time and a difffernet era. THere were the Fraternities Omega Gamma Delta Sigma Kappa Delta, Kappa Gamma Lambda, and Lambda Beta Delta we all got along pretty well I think there were times that we didnt but all in all we were a pretty close knit group of people I dont think at anytime in Paterson there was a closer group no matter were you went you knew somebody even today Im amazed at where I go and the people I run into alot of good people have passed on they are gone but not forgotten and the good times are always in our memories This is what made our time so great We made memories that last. Hi JP....I agree with you 100% and sorely miss the good ole days! I lived on 5 Passaic St. The only JP I can think of is Joey Pellicotti? I am pushing 70 in October...yikes, where did the time go? Regards, Joyce Luciano

your husband is alittle older than I am but i was wondering if he remembers some of the other guys that lived in my neighborhood there was Joey Pellicotti actually there were 2 cousins 1 lived on Cross street the other on Ward. On lower market street there were 2 brothers their last name was Crabtree their father would always hollar at us for playing pall in the school yard. and on Passaic street was a guy named Frank Portelli and their was another 2 brothers 1 was named Tommy DeVita his brother was one of the original Happenings and there was the Chelsey brothers Lenny and his brother who was just called Dillenger and their was also a guy named Jackie Julianno Maybe some of these names he'll remember Hi There! Tommy DeVita's brother was Ralph, I went to school with him. Joey Pellicotti and Jackie Julianno both became school teachers. Haven't seen them in years but get a message from them both every now and then from Johnny Mainardi whose family owned the bakery next door to the Library on Grand Street. And Dillinger lived in the middle of our block, I lived on 5 Passaic St. corner of Mill. I can't remember Dilly's real name anymore but do remember him putting grasshoppers down my back when I was in the 8th Grade...yikes! Joyce

New Kids on the Block is my favourite pop-band of 90s. NKOTB had so many hit songs! The ones I remember are 'Tonight', 'Baby, I Believe In You' and, of course their hit 'Step By Step'. These are real songs, not fake like today! And it is awesome they have a tour in 2019! And I'm going to attend their concert this year. The concert setlist is here: New Kids on the Block tour USA. Click on it and maybe we can even visit one of the concerts together!
